Since 2021 Pedro Boese has been pursuing in the series parallel the idea of interpreting a print as an object, as a unity of motif, paper and frame. In fall 2024 during a scholarship in the printing workshop of the Statens Værksteder for Kunst, Copenhagen, Boese printed three large-format motifs, which were developed into a triptych entitled parallel XXVII - XXX.

In the series Boese explores the relationship between the visual space of a print, the space around it and the space between each work. The triptych parallel XXVII - XXX thus exemplifies the approach in the series and marks its climax. In addition to these formal aspects, what interests Boese the most is the potential of color, its different qualities and its ability to change through interaction.
