An exhibition about the impossibility of being yourself. What does that mean? The work is an expression of the self and the way in which the self moves through its environment. Therefore, the work of an artist shows the particularities of the personality and here a question arises: how much is the work characterised by the choices of the artist? Probably less than we think. What is the relationship between conscious, controlled decisions and random or material-inherent processes in artistic work? What influence do the exhibition space and the social environment have on the respective works? Which dialogues arise between the artist, the materials and the environment during the artistic process? The works in this exhibition explore these questions.
